Miley Cyrus wore a prostitute costume to her birthday party on Wednesday.
The singer-and-actress turns 17 on Monday, but organised an early 80s-themed bash to celebrate. Miley decided to dress as Julia Robert’s sex worker character in movie Pretty Woman, much to the surprise of the other guests.
The party was held at Canal Room on West Broadway, Manhattan, and Miley was treated to a performance by the cast of hit show Rock of Ages.
“Miley had seen the show two weeks ago and loved it, so her mom Tish brought the cast in to surprise her,” a source told the New York Post newspaper. “But I'm not sure who was more into Constantine - Miley or her mother.”
Between performances of the show’s songs, Miley took lead star Constantine Maroulis to the front of the stage and danced – with Tish unable to stop herself from joining in.
Earlier this year, Miley caused outrage by performing a sexy pole dance routine at the Teen Choice Awards.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed the star is planning to spend the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday with her 19-year-old boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. The pair will apparently travel to Miley’s family so they can be together for the November 26 holiday.
A source said: “It’s getting very serious between them. They are so cute together.”
The pair met on the set of new movie The Last Song, and began dating soon after shooting finished.
Miley has refused to confirm she is dating Liam, repeatedly referring to him as her “best friend”. Although she won’t be drawn on romance rumours, she has admitted they have agreed not to discuss the nature of their relationship in public. She also quit social networking website Twitter, of which she was a prolific user, after Liam told her he didn’t agree with it.
Speaking about Liam in a recent interview, Miley said: “I've never gotten along with someone so well. I was a little anxious about making this movie; I wanted everything to be perfect. To go on set and feel insecure was a totally new element for me. But he felt the same way. He admitted his insecurities, and it was really nice to have someone who understands me for on”
It was not "cast of hit show Rock of Ages" that entertained at the birthday bash. Constantine Maroulis did sing two songs but was backed up by NYC-based 80's tribute band Rubix Kube, who proceeded to rock the party for two more hours! Miley and her mom, and all her friends and family, were dancing and rocking out to the band all night long, Miley herself seemed to know all the words to all those 80's hair-metal songs - anyway she was a blast. Rubix Kube packs 'em in at the Canal Room in NYC's downtown Soho neighborhood every Saturday night!!!!
