The actress shot to fame playing a confident seductress in Casino Royale, but in real life, Eva claims she is so shy she can barely function. Even simple dinner parties leave the 29-year-old beauty frozen with fear.

“At school when a teacher asked me a question I would almost pass out,” she told Tatler magazine. “I was terrible and I still can be. It overwhelms me. I can be having dinner with people and I find I can’t say a word. So being an actress is kind of masochistic.”

Eva is also shy about her stunning figure, claiming she felt physically sick when she watched her nude scenes in the James Bond film.

She said: “I felt a bit ill when I saw it. I’m not confident with my body.”
